The Estes Alpha IIIŽ was my second rocket. Part of the E2X series, the Alpha IIIŽ required minor assembly including cutting and gluing. Because I was flying my Estes AstrocamŽ RTF at the same time, I used a C6-7 engine for the first (and final) flight of the Alpha IIIŽ. On October 18, 1998, in Gulfport, Mississippi, I launched the Alpha IIIŽ and it entered a low cloud directly overhead and disappeared. It was spotting returning to earth slowly a significant distance away. The Alpha IIIŽ was never recovered so if you find this rocket, please send me e-mail at forrest@greenbackacres.com. It has the number "13" on a tail fin.
